About Us
Hi. My name is Paul Clarke and I would like to introduce our company to you.
After nearly 50 years of professional sales and marketing with fantastic small to large retail and wholesale distribution companies, including my own store ownership, I have now started my own business and look forward to sharing my lengthy career experience with you. Sales Basics is now here and ready to help new or inexperienced sales people kick start their own journey to sales success.
I have worked in Senior Management and Director roles, owned businesses and distributed many fine brands and have had the pleasure of supporting the careers of many fine sales and marketing folks over the years. Sales Basics methodology is to run the course on a one to one, or maximum one to two candidateSales Basics methodology is to run our courses on a one to one, or maximum one to two candidate basis to ensure the optimum result. Our experience is that group sessions do not provide the necessary focus for people to take in what is being presented.

Signature Sales Program
Our One Day Program is designed for:
- New business startups or wholesale distributors
- New or inexperienced Sales Representatives
- Internal Sales Associates moving into field sales
- Merchandisers moving into field sales
- Sales Executives early in their sales career
Our goal is to maximize the time we have together, focus our energies and impart our knowledge to a single person or a maximum two delegates. It is our experience that group training can be less effective.

In Field Training
As an add on service, we offer a one on one in field evaluation option. A suggestion would be that this option could be taken up a month after your team member undertook our sales program.
After conferring with you, we would establish which areas, if any, further training would be of benefit.
We would provide a written report upon completion of the field evaluation.
Performance Refresher
A half day version of the program is an option should you or your team member wish to revisit any content from the modules.
Shadow Shop / In Store Surveys
We can provide this service as a stand alone service or as follow up to any of our training programs.
Often, clients would like to follow up any training program with a shadow shop or in store display survey.
Qualitative and quantitative results will be presented in an executive summary.
Retail Sales for Beginners
This course is designed to take new sales people on a journey through the core requirements to make selling in retail an enjoyable experience.
Our experience is based on face to face sales in retail, retail store management, start up store successes and multi site volume retail in general management.
The course is a full day covering 4 modules as per our Sales Representative course.

- New entrants to the full-time retail sales arena
- Inexperienced retail staff requiring or needing a refresher
- Part-time or casual staff wishing to expand their career
- Owners of business start-ups with limited sales expertise
